Step With Care is a project meant to model the process of Grassroots social activism and organization.
The raised platform at the back of the piece is dirty from footprints and signals your interaction with a stencil on the stair tread that reads “Step With Care.” If you step on to the platform alone not much happens, however if you convince 2 or 3 people to climb up with you then the figure at the front creeks and groans to a standing position with a defiant fist raised in the air. At which point you and your group become the “backdrop” for the piece and you must convince another group to “support” the action so the you may view the work.
