A progression of the “painting” objects this sculpture combines a shopping cart, custom bird cage, and an oil well.

A mash up of a cargo tricycle modeled from those I was impressed by during a trip to China and one of my favorite absurd objects, horse head style oil pumps.

Green has become a universal descriptor for a more wholelistic, humanist view of our interactions as people. We face a decision as a species as to whether this century will be known as the Green Century or as the Red (an era of conflict, dominance, and violence.) The stage is well set for either reality and it is only our current actions that will define this time. This piece is meant to foster a sense of cooperation between participants, and be a meditation on the aesthetic process of creating and expressing ones self visually.  This installation at The New Children’s Museum is made up of artifacts from my “Green Century” project and is a non interactive wind driven kinetic display.

This is my most recent art production. This work is meant to be a playful look at the history of classical painting and  1970’s custom van culture!

Oil wells are absurdly beautiful, mesmerizing objects laden with negative social connotations, violent political repercussions, and destructive environmental effects.  Yet I love to watch them nod their heads in constant affirmation.

Come in and discover your way through Bruce’s nostalgic architectural forms. Touch, move and draw Rendon’s furry felt fruit and vegetable sculptures. The interaction of museum guests to create these large-scale works of art stands as an illustration of the power of every individuals active participation working towards common goals in creative endeavors.

The installation as part of The Museum at the California Center for the Arts’ exhibition “Leveled” presents the viewer with an opportunity to ride or push either a custom tricycle or modified shopping cart that dispense dye on to their tires and through repetitive action create large scale paintings on muslin.  These paintings are displayed as tapestries in the space.

During this performance I ride a tricycle that pumps red dye onto its tires via and oil style pump. The tires mark large circles onto the paper below. After finishing each painting I hoist the paper into the air to form a cube around me,revealing the next piece below. The process takes about three hours, all the while I sing John Lennon’s “Working-class Hero”
